One Body, One Life, Super Bowl LIV

Jennifer Lopez and Shakira headlined at halftime with a cast of thousands. Yikes! Whole lotta shaking going on! I was impressed by the level of difficulty and the physical skills and the conditioned bodies that went on and on and on to higher kicking and leapier leaps and more human towers, more music and more and more.

The half-time extravaganza was, of course, sandwiched in between the two halves of The Game. Most people know more about football and players’ records, habits, and weakness. Without the Packers in the game, I enjoyed watching what happened and thinking what might happen next. I felt sorry for players who dropped the ball.

Sunday morning our congregation enjoyed a young family’s church visit with their spectacularly adorable baby who was already accomplished in billing and cooing and making happy baby noises. After the service a crowd gathered around them and prompted many of us elder people to bill and coo back. Our whole congregation has recently made happy noises when two of our member families announced in Joys and Concerns the expected summer arrivals of grandchild number two.

It was a very nice weekend. I read mysteries for my Clearing Class course. I worked a little on the 1000 piece puzzle I recently bought Al. We both would have liked it if the 1950s full service gas station puzzle had only 500 pieces. We did some laundry and some furniture location planning. We talked to one of our sons and advanced planning to see our grandson’s graduation in May. When the world seems a little off-kilter, we need to prioritize the Biggies and remember to breathe deeply and celebrate in the ordinary.
